Our Garden Bird Gallery

I've just been through my photos to see just how many different garden birds we actually have had and managed to get a photo of. Some photos aren't very good and I need to try for better shots but this is what we have so far.
I haven't added male and female of all the species just blackbird, chaffinch and bullfinch so I guess that's 23 different species. We have had occasional visitors that we haven't managed a photo of at all for instance a pied wagtail and also a heron. We were too concerned about the fish in the pond to take a photo of the heron!

Some visitors are regulars, whereas others such as a redwing, fieldfare and siskins have paid an occasional visit when conditions were bad.

I need to try for better photos of some! We have had a heron (we were too busy shooing it away from the fishpond!) and a pied wagtail that I haven't managed to get a photo off. We've also had swallows and house martins close by such as these on the phone wires just outside of our window.
PS: I just can't believe that I missed adding a picture of a long tailed tit to my collage so here are two photos to make up for it!

  1. That's a huge variety of birds, Sue, you must have a very inviting garden. Unfortunately our 4 dogs seem to frighten off most birds and we don't have a bird feeder or table. I have bought some peanuts this morning though to hang in a tree. We have had a Jay, Robin, Sparrows, Goldfinch, Sparrowhawk, Collared Doves and pigeons, Long tailed Tits, blackbirds and magpies, but they don't stay for very long, they just sit on the fence for a while then they're off!
